The goal

Get rid of your cards as early as possible every hand. Roundfello adds up the points for your finishing place over a set number of hands — highest total wins.

How a hand works

  1. 1

    Deal everything

Deal the whole deck out, one at a time. Cards rank 3 (lowest) up through K, A, with 2 highest.

  2. 2

    Lead a combination

The leader plays a single card, a pair, three of a kind or four of a kind.

  3. 3

    Beat it or pass

Going around, each player plays the same number of cards of a higher rank, or passes. When everyone passes, the last player to play clears the pile and leads again.

  4. 4

    Finish and take your title

First out is President, then Vice President, then the middle, Vice Scum, and last is Scum.

  5. 5

    Trade cards

Before the next hand, Scum gives their two best cards to the President, who gives back any two. Vice Scum and Vice President swap one card the same way. Scum leads first.

A common points scheme

  • President (1st out)Players − 1
  • Each next place1 less
  • Scum (last)0

With 4 players: President 3, Vice President 2, Vice Scum 1, Scum 0. Roundfello accepts whatever points your table uses.

One round of plays

  1. 1.Leo leads a pair of 6s.
  2. 2.Mia beats it with a pair of Jacks; Ava passes; Noah plays a pair of 2s.
  3. 3.Nobody can beat 2s, so Noah clears the pile and leads.

Winning tips

  • Hold your 2s to win control when you need it.
  • Break up pairs carefully — singles are easy to beat.
  • Lead your weakest combinations early.

Popular house rules

  • Many tables let a single 2 beat any combination, or let four of a kind 'bomb' the pile.
  • Some tables require following the exact rank to skip the next player.
