Hand and Foot rules
Play through your hand, then pick up your foot.

The goal
Score the most points over four rounds by building clean and dirty books with your partner.
How a hand works
- 1
Two piles each
Shuffle 5–6 decks with Jokers. Each player is dealt two piles of 11 cards: the hand (play first) and the foot (set aside).
- 2
Draw two, discard one
Draw two from the stock each turn, then discard one. Many tables let you take the top 7 discards if you can meld the top card with two naturals from your hand.
- 3
Open with a minimum
Your team's first meld must reach 50 points in round 1, 90 in round 2, 120 in round 3 and 150 in round 4. Jokers and 2s are wild.
- 4
Into the foot
Once you've played every card in your hand, pick up your foot and keep going.
- 5
Go out
Your team needs at least one clean and one dirty book (and many tables need more) before a player can go out with no cards left.
Scoring
- Clean (natural) book of 7500
- Dirty (with wilds) book of 7300
- Joker50
- 2s and Aces20
- K – 810
- 7 – 4 and black 3s5
- Red 3s+100 each (−100 if stuck)
- Going out100
End of a round
- 1.Leo and Mia have 2 clean books (1,000), 1 dirty book (300) and 420 in other melds.
- 2.Mia went out (+100).
- 3.Their partners still hold 85 → round score 1,735.
Winning tips
- Get into your foot fast — cards stuck there count against you.
- Talk with your partner (it's allowed!) before going out.
- Don't add wilds to a pile you want to keep clean.
Popular house rules
- House rules vary enormously: books needed to go out, wild limits, red-3 values and pickup sizes.
- Some tables play more rounds or larger books (red/black books).
